CALIFORNIA – Senator and presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren strongly endorsed Proposition 13 – the only statewide initiative on Tuesday’s ballot – before rallying in California on the eve of Tuesday’s election.
“As a former teacher, I know how important well-maintained classrooms are for our children.” said Warren. “That’s why I support the Proposition 13 School Safety Bond, which will invest directly into California classrooms to ensure students are learning in safe, healthy, and secure facilities.”
Governor Gavin Newsom, Prop 13’s leading proponent, praised Warren for joining the broad bipartisan coalition. “Elizabeth Warren knows a good plan when she sees one, and Prop 13 is the right plan to improve students’ health and safety,” said Newsom.
Proposition 13 will make California’s schools safer and healthier by authorizing $15 billion in school improvement bonds for public preschools, kindergarten-12th grade schools, community colleges, and universities.
